Concrete pool decks in Bentonville AR - a surface that grips wet, bare feet
Slick, cracked or tired concrete around your pool? We pour a deck that grips wet feet and keeps its movement off the pool's edge.

What a good concrete pool deck does
A concrete pool deck is the slab poured around your pool, and it works harder than a patio because it stays wet and gets walked barefoot. Most people call us when a new pool is going in, or when the old deck has turned slick, cracked along the edge or started holding water. If the yard steps down, we can pour concrete steps to match.
The part you can't see matters most. We dig out and pack the subgrade, the ground the slab sits on, the way we would for a slab foundation, because a base that's only raked level settles with the dirt. If the budget gets tight, I'll tell you to trim the finish before the base, since the base is buried on day one and decides how the deck ages.
The price moves with the deck's size, how much ground work it takes to get a solid base, the finish you choose and how easy it is to get the pour to the backyard. The schedule turns on any permit, the weather on pour day and curing, the wait while the concrete gains strength before you walk on it. I'll measure in person and write you an estimate with your own figure.
Pool decks built for wet feet
A pool deck should feel sure underfoot when it's wet and leave the pool itself alone as the slab moves. Here's what you get when we build yours.
- I look at every job myself and write the estimate
- I run the pour on site with our crew
- A deck-to-pool joint that keeps movement off the pool's edge
- A finish chosen to grip wet feet and stay comfortable in sun
- We're licensed and insured
- In business since 2021

Pool deck questions we hear
Which concrete pool deck finish grips best when wet?
No one finish wins outright, because broom, textured, exposed aggregate, coatings, overlays and decorative finishes each differ in grip and in how hot they get. Choose for grip on wet, bare feet first, and go easy on very dark colors, which can get uncomfortable in full sun. We'll go through the options with you at the estimate.
How often does a concrete pool deck need resealing?
With most acrylic sealers, about every 18 to 24 months, according to one sealer maker, while penetrating sealers can go three to five years. Salt-water splash or heavy foot traffic means recoating acrylic sooner. An easy check is to sprinkle a little water on the deck, and when it stops beading up, it's time to reseal.
Why does a pool deck crack near the pool's edge?
Usually because the deck moves against the coping, the pool's edge cap, or sits on fill that settled. One coping maker says without a gap and flexible sealant between them, deck movement can crack or chip the coping. With a new pool, poorly packed fill around the shell can settle and crack the deck, so we pack it first.
How much does a concrete pool deck cost in Bentonville?
Across the US, installing a concrete pool deck usually costs about $10.50 to $12 per square foot. That's a national range for the install, not our price. For a Bentonville figure, I'll come out and measure your deck.
Do I need a permit for a pool deck in Bentonville?
Bentonville's permit list names plumbing, electrical, mechanical and fire work, not pool decks, so check with its Building and Fire Safety Division at (479) 271-3108. The city requires a Rainfall Mitigation Worksheet for pools, and no work may start until a permit is paid and issued. If you need one, we handle the application and set up inspections.
What license does a pool deck contractor need in Arkansas?
In Arkansas, a Limited license covers only residential home improvement jobs under $50,000, labor and material included, and an Unlimited license covers jobs of any size. So it's fair to ask any builder which one they hold and check that it fits your job before you sign.
